I've learned this week there is one place that you never want to see your photos displayed, a memorial. Especially one of the bright young talented seniors that you just took photos for barely a year or so earlier.
Alyssa's session was just one of those sessions that sticks out in my mind. I was still so new at doing senior photos and she was the first senior I had that just wasn't that into it. Not that she wasn't enthusiastic or cooperative, it's just that getting photos done just wasn't her jam. Maybe it was the years of dance recital portraits or the she really just likes selfies with her sister better but she was truly just doing this for her mom.
She stood where I wanted her to stand, she posed beautifully when asked. She was just so calm and relaxed that it actually made me nervous. "Comfortable in her own skin" is the phrase that keeps coming back to me over and over again. She was just chill.
This week we said goodbye to Alyssa, she was 19 beautiful and bright. A shining star at UCF where she was a leader in the Wesley group there. Gone too soon for all of us but we know she's dancing with the angels tonight.
